Sustainability

Coalatree sources fabrics from Bluesign partnership mills (a textile sustainability NGO), and also manufactures their products using recycled materials and organic growing methods that support and improve farmers worldwide. One of these products is from Earthspun® – their colours are derived from recycled bottles and other plastics to create fibre. Each colour of bottle creates the appropriate colour of fibre and one Bottle T-shirt saves 6.5 plastic bottles and 18 quarts of water eliminating textile dyeing. All Coalatree Earthsplun Yarns are certified to the Global Recycling Standard and Spun By The Sun in the United States. In addition to these methods, Coalatree uses 100% BCI (Better Cotton Initiative) organic cotton that supports farmers in India directly and helps them develop sustainable and efficient methods. This brand is constantly evolving and developing more sustainable ways to manufacture clothing and give back to the community as they evolve – help support their cause by buying smart.
